Do you find that you put yourself down? When you try to do something does a voice in your head say: “YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH?”
Whose voice is that? Who put it into your head?
The world, unfortunately, is full of people more than willing to put you down. Why do their work for them?
So you can’t paint like Leonardo…
Or like Picasso…
And you can’t write like Scott Fitzgerald…
Or sing like Judy Garland…
Or take pictures like Margaret Bourke-White
BUT…
THEY COULD NEVER
DO WHAT YOU DO!
In all of history from the start of time to the end of time – there has never EVER been anyone like you. YOU, yes YOU, are a unique expression of the Universe. The Universe created you as surely as it created all the stars and the planets and gold and silver and lead and water.
As the apple tree makes apples, so the Universe makes LIVING ENTITIES. That includes you.
You know the expression about the silliness of comparing apples and oranges? Well, that has a deeper meaning than most people know. How can people compare themselves to YOU? Not one person in all of history equals YOU, or even comes close. Think of yourself as UNIQUE because you are. How can you compare yourself to anyone else? Why bang your head against that wall? Forget what THEY do. Just be YOU.
You exist on this planet at this time… FOR ONE PURPOSE:
TO BE THE BEST POSSIBLE YOU!
And you achieve that simply: JUST BE YOURSELF. Not what other people expect you to be… Not what you were told to be… JUST WHO YOU ARE!
You already ARE the best – even though
you may not know it!
Whatever you do… The key to success is…
LEAVE THE JUDGE OUT OF IT
Granted, you may find this easier said than done. YEARS of training may have left you in a state of doubt. And then so many people seem to dedicate their whole existence to putting everyone down. This is a human trait that psychologists have studied for years! Here’s a brief clip of writer, philosopher, psychologist Robert Anton Wilson discussing this very subject back in 1991:
